Looking like something from a Bond movie, “Sky Fall”, nestled in the Gold Coast Hinterland, offered us the perfect opportunity to get our engineering hats on, and create an automatic gate system that would do this amazing property justice.
The challenge was as bold as the property itself: calling for a 6-metre span, single swing gate with no support post, no hinges, and no visible mechanics. And no compromise on aesthetics.
So, we went to the source, and had a purpose-built underground motor shipped directly from Italy – because nothing off the shelf could handle a gate of this scale. In fact, nothing like this had ever been installed in Australia.
The result is a gate that moves with effortless precision, its mechanics entirely concealed beneath the driveway. All you see is six metres of seamless, sweeping elegance.
Our verdict? We think even 007 would approve.
