Services FAQ
Does someone need to be available on site when providing a quote?
Yes, we’ll need to meet with you on site when you need a quote.
It is only this way that we are able to ascertain exactly what you require, so we can provide you with a quote that is best suited for your needs. This is our custom service that we believe all new installations deserve.
What do I need to know to help a technician provide a custom quote?
So we can provide you with the right gate for your needs, please spend some time reviewing the site to get an idea of these five things you’ll need to discuss with your technician during your appointment.
- What style of gate would you prefer? Sliding gate, swing gate, pedestrian access (we call this a “PA Gate”), or boom gate
- What type of design would you like the gate to be? A simple pool fence design, or one with horizontal or vertical slats? A louvered style (meaning you would like a little privacy) perhaps, or one that offers a total block out for complete privacy. Maybe you’d like a custom design, or even one you have created yourself.
- Would you like to have your gate work automatically or manually? Perhaps you’re environmentally minded and would prefer solar powered gates?
- Do you require extra security at your property? Add access control with an intercom system or keypad.
- What colour would you like your gate? There are over 50 colours to choose from! Visit our colour chart page to pick one that best suits your property.
With these things in mind, your technician will then be able to let you know what would be the best fit for your property. And of course, if you’re not sure about anything, our technician can answer your questions.
What is the 100% Satisfaction Guarantee?

Our own 100% satisfaction guarantee, means that we are reliable and contactable to resolve post-installation issues, should they arise.
We pride ourselves on quality workmanship, together with quality products. For your investment, and peace of mind.
Installations FAQ
How long will it be between my quote and getting my gate installed?
Our standard installation lead time is approximately four weeks from the time we receive your acceptance and deposit, as per our “Payment Terms” on your quotation.
How long will it take you to install my gate?
Most installations are completed in just a few hours, however it depends greatly on the size & complexity of the job – some may take up to 2 days.
Does someone need to be home for the install to be carried out?
Again, this is dependent on the size & nature of the installation. Replacing a faulty gate motor wouldn’t require you to be at home, however if we’re installing an access control system and need to run cabling to your property, we will need someone to be there.
Automatic Gate Problems FAQ
My gate has stopped working, what do I do?
Check that the power is ON at the gate position. Should you hear the motor grinding (it wants to work but nothing is happening), we recommend that you call a technician as the motor could be due for a service.
Like a motor in a car, gate motors should be serviced at least once a year (depending on its daily usage).
I’m stuck inside the property, and my gate won’t open
When dealing with electronics, issues could be caused by one of many factors – such as a power outage. This is when you’ll need to put your motor into manual mode, and use your manual release key to manually open/close your gate until a technician can attend.
How you put your motor in manual mode will of course differ depending on the manufacturer. Click here to find your gate motor.
How important is my manual release key?
Very important! Each motor is assigned its own manual release key (this is of course for security reasons), and we recommend that the manual release key be kept in a safe place accessible to all within the property.
A technician will not always be available at the time you need them, so in order to help you get in and out of your gate, you will need to place your gate motor in manual mode if it is not working automatically.
My remote control is not opening/closing the gate – Why?
Most often we find this is simply a low battery in the remote control. To test, press the button on your remote control and if the LED does not light up, it may be that the battery needs to be replaced. Batteries  can be purchased from most supermarkets.
Should the light come on, Â it may mean that there has been some electronic interference, and a technician is most likely required to either reprogram the remote or replace it with a new one, check further for issues with your gate motor, as it could need a service.
